Mixpanel Connection Setup

Use this page to gather the exact Mixpanel credentials Vexly needs. Follow each short clip and copy the values shown.

What you’ll collect

• Project ID – identifies the Mixpanel project.
• Service Account (Username & Secret) – secure, long-lived credentials for Vexly.

1) Start the Mixpanel connection in Vexly

1. In Vexly, open Connections.
2. Click Add Connection → choose Mixpanel.
3. Stop on the empty Mixpanel popup.

2) Log in

1. Sign in at https://mixpanel.com.

3) Find your Project ID

1. Click the gear icon → Organization settings.
2. Open the Projects tab in the left sidebar.
3. Click the project you want to connect.
4. Copy the Project ID shown in the project details.

4) Create a Service Account

1. From the same project details view, click Service accounts.
2. Click Add service account.
3. Name it (e.g., Vexly), set Role to the minimum needed (start with Analyst or required read scope), set expiration to Never if available, and create.
4. Copy the Username and Secret (the secret is shown once).

5) Finish in Vexly

1. Return to the Mixpanel popup in Vexly.

2. Paste:

   • Project ID
   • Service Account Username
   • Service Account Secret

3. Click Add Connection.

Troubleshooting

• Permission denied: Ensure the Service Account role has the needed project access; retry with a higher role temporarily to confirm.
• Wrong project: Verify you copied the Project ID from the correct project.
• Secret lost: Create a new Service Account; you can’t re-show an old secret.
• Secret expired/disabled: Create a new Service Account and update Vexly with a new Mixpanel connection, deleting the old connection.
